Kinpusan is one of the popular mountains in Yamanashi prefecture of Kanto. Its height is 2599m, and there is a free parking lot for 30 cars at the entrance. It is quite easy access and perfect for a day trip.
We recently visited there in Sept., just after rain and typhoon, so the trail was quite muddy inside the woods, at the top there were many big rocks that required some climbing.
The view was really nice, but I was wearing 5-finger shoes because my hiking shoes were too old and the sole fell off…. so I did not get to the tip of it, but it was still nice to enjoy lunch near the top.
